I just watched “The Amityville Horror” (2005) last night, who else has seen it?

I thought it was a great movie! I like horror films and it takes a lot to scare me, but I’ll admit this one freaked me out a little. I know it’s based on a true story, and the house is supposed to be the #1 most haunted house in the US… But as I watched the extras on the DVD and read some stuff online, it makes me wonder what was really behind the murders that took place there. My theory is that it was mob related. And the Lutz family weren’t haunted, they just let their imaginations and the fact that they knew the history of the house get to them, that’s what inevitably drove them out of the house.

Who else seen this movie, and do you suggest I see the original, too? What are your thoughts on it?
In your opinion, is the place really haunted?
I know it’s a real home, but it makes you wonder if things really did happen as they say they did, or if they possibly got psyched out knowing the history of the murders that took place there… or had other motives.

actually yes, that is a real home where strange things did happen, i haven’t seen the remake, they are rarely as good as the original.
